Rick Vatsaas with eager audienceMASA has come on board as a technical advisor and sponsor for the new Minnesota Rocket League competition.  Sponsored by the same group as the Lego robotics competitions, this new activity is being spearheaded by MASA member Ted Cochran.  MRL will be open to kids in grades 4 through 9, organized in teams with an adult coach.  They will have a specific mission to accomplish by designing, building, and flying a model rocket.

Rick Vatsaas and Steve HumTo help kick-off the Minnesota Rocket League and promote model rocketry, MASA set up a display at the Lego robotics state championships on January 26.  A number of MASA members came by to help, exhibit their creations, hand out MRL fliers, and talk to kids and parents.

The MASA members who brought items for display and helped staff the exhibit were:

  • Ted Cochran
  • Alan EstensonQuite the line-up!
  • Rick Vatsaas
  • Steve Hum
  • Dave Fergus
  • Ellison & Stuart Lenz
  • Jeff Hove
  • Glen Overby

Thanks to everybody who helped!  In the coming months, we'll be asking for more assistance from MASA members as we help the Minnesota Rocket League.
