Scout Pack 198 Launch (7/14/2012)

On Saturday, July 14th, Chuck Ross, Ian Ross, Anand Vyas and I assisted Scout Pack 198 launch rockets at the VFW soccer fields near Elk River. There were between 20 to 30 kids launching and they al got to fly at least 3 times. They all got to push the launch buttons which they all really enjoyed. I even let a couple of the older kids turn on the arming key and flip the selector switches. We did several drag races which the kids and parents all liked very much. The group was very safety conscious and helped with plane spotting. One kid even yelled butterfly and I had to delay the launch until it moved away from the pads. I flew 5 rockets and Chuck and Ian flew a couple of rockets also. Ian test flew his Kitbash Kontest rocket. Not only did it look great, it flew great. Thanks for your help Chuck, Ian and Anand. Neal

From the pack leader:

On behalf of Cub Scout Pack 198 (St. Joseph's Church, West St. Paul), I'd like to again say THANK YOU to you, Anand, Chuck, Ian (all the other MASA and VFW Post 5518 members) for a wonderful model rocket launch last Saturday. The youth (and their parents) had a really good time, and I wouldn't be surprised if MASA gains a new member or two as a result! We appreciate everything you and your organization do to foster the learning and fun which come with exploring the world of model rocketry.

Sincerely,

Carl Baumeister
